The CBI ChipMax Model 484 is built to enable companies with lower volume requirements to still enjoy the same durability and cost per ton advantages realized with the current CBI Equipment Product Line. Featuring two chipping rotors, the Model 484 can be designed to make high quality fuel chips custom sized from 12 to 25 mm or “micro-chips” from 6 to 12 mm for the pellet producing market. These “micro-chips” produce a consistent fiber length dramatically reducing the overall cost of operation for the pellet producers.

The CBI Metal Detection System™ is setting a completely new industry standard. Carefully placed impact measuring sensors detect if a rotor tooth strikes tramp metal. Within milliseconds the sensor quickly communicates with the machine’s main control system, telling it that metal has been detected. The controller immediately reverses the feed system and throttles down the engine.  Depending on the severity of the impact (and the option selected for your CBI grinder) the system hydraulically opens the anvil/screen frame assembly at an extremely high rate of speed without even requiring an actual impact against anvil or screen – thereby allowing a safe ejection of the tramp metal and minimizing potential damage. The sensitivity of the system is easily adjustable by the operator on the machine control panel.

CBI’s best-selling grinder has been revised and re-released as a “B” version.  The Magnum Force Series 6800B Horizontal Hog has been specifically re-designed for land clearing companies and yard waste processors who demand high-volume throughput and maximum reliability. The 6800B features a clamshell hogbox for ease of maintenance; high torque, hydrostatic feed system; PT Tech hydraulic clutch; and a choice of two CAT power plants.  The 4” thick, high strength rotor core is shear pin protected. The entire system is controlled by CBI’s IntelliGrind logic that incorporates feed speed that varies automatically with engine load, and an optional modem communications system that provides for real-time system diagnostics, analysis, and operating program adjustments allowing the operator to optimize performance while avoiding costly downtime.  The 6800B is available in portable, stationary, or track-mounted versions.
